The Way of the Circle - LEGAL DISCLAIMER

It has recently come to our attention that the CMQ (Collège des Médecins du Québec) has begun to attack and fine people and organizations offering services in “ENERGY MEDECINE”. They base these proceedings on a part of Quebec’s Law, the ARTICLE #32 of the PROFESSIONAL CODE which has been combined into CHAPTER C-26 with Amendments. They cite ARTICLE 188 of the PROFESSIONAL CODE.

It has also been brought to our attention that some people working with what is called "Energy Medicine" have been fined on these TWO citations in the Article of the Law mentioned above for the following reasons:

1-      Advertising that they practice "ENERGY MEDICINE”,  which, according to the Collège des Médecins du Québec leads the public to believe that they were officially authorized to exercise medicine and thus were contravening the said Law mentioned above.

2-      Furthermore that they were indeed exercising/practising medicine

* WE BELIEVE IT IS CLEAR THROUGHOUT OUR WEBSITE THAT WE DO NOT PRACTICE OR REPLACE OUR OFFICIAL ALLOPATHIC MEDICAL PROVINCIAL/FEDERAL INSTITUTIONS IN ANY WAY.  IN FACT WE ALWAYS SUGGEST TO PEOPLE WHO COME TO SEE US TO TAKE ANY MEDICATION OR TREATMENT THAT OUR MEDICAL AUTHORITIES ADVISE THEM TO.  WE WISH TO MAKE IT CLEAR THAT WE DO NOT HAVE OR WANT TO HAVE AN OFFICIAL AUTHORIZATION TO PRACTICE OFFICIAL ALLOPATHIC OCCIDENTAL MEDICINE AS PERCEIVED BY THE AUTHORITIES WHO EMIT THOSE PERMITS.

IN OUR BELIEF, THE ALGONQUIN TRADITIONAL ENERGY MEDICINE WE PRACTICE IS COMPLEMENTARY TO OUR OFFICIAL ALLOPATHIC MEDICAL INSTITUTION.

WE BELIEVE WE MAKE IT CLEAR THROUGHOUT OUR WEBSITE THAT THE WAY OF THE CIRCLE PROVIDES FIRST AND FOREMOST SPIRITUAL AND EMOTIONAL SUPPORT WHICH IS CONSIDERED BY FIRST NATIONS PEOPLE TO BE AT THE ROOT OF ALL WOUNDS AND THEIR RESPECTIVE HEALING.

WE ALSO BELIEVE THAT BY ‘HEALING” THE EMOTIONAL ROOT OF A PROBLEM, THERE WILL ACCORDINGLY BE ‘HEALING” OR CHANGE OF BEHAVIOUR WHICH IS ASSOCIATED TO THE MENTAL PART OF THE SOUL OR BODY.

THERE WILL ALSO BE A SPIRITUAL “HEALING” IN THE SENSE THAT THE RELATIONSHIP WITH OURSELVES AND OTHERS WILL IMPROVE.

WE, AT THE WAY OF THE CIRCLE, STONGLY BELIEVE THAT THESE BASIC CHANGES OR “HEALINGS” OF THE SOUL WILL DEFINITELY RELEIVE STRESS AND PHYSICAL TENSION IN THE BODIES OF PEOPLE THAT BENEFIT FROM THESE TRADITIONAL CEREMONIES WITH US, AND THAT IN MANY CASES MAY OR MAY NOT IN A SHORT OR LONG SPAN OF TIME BRING A PHYSICAL HEALING TO THE BODY.

SO ANY USE OF TERMS SUCH AS "HEALING, PRACTICE, TREATMENT, MEDICINE, MEDICAL" IS NOT INTENDED TO CONVEY THAT WE HAVE AN AUTHORIZATION TO PRACTICE THE OFFICIAL OCCIDENTAL ALLOPATHIC  MEDICINE PRACTICED BY DOCTORS.

*NOR DO WE PRETEND OR ADVERTISE THAT WE ARE SHAMANS AND THAT WE ARE RECOGNIZED BY THE ENTIRE FIRST NATIONS COMMUNITY.

WE ONLY SAY WHAT WE SAY: THAT WE HAVE FOLLOWED AND COMPLETED A TWO YEAR TEACHING PROGRAM WITH PETE BERNARD.  PETE BEING THE GRANDSON OF MATT BERNARD, MEDICINE MAN AND MASTER CANOE BUILDER, RECOGNIZED AS PART OF THE BEAR CLAN FAMILY OF PIKWÀKNAGAN FIRST NATIONS COMMUNITY LOCATED IN GOLDEN LAKE ONTARIO.

* WE HAVE BEEN TRAINED, ACCEPTED IN THE BEAR CLAN FAMILY, RECEIVED FULL RITES AND AUTHORIZED BY PETE TO PERFORM CEREMONIES IN THE TRADITIONAL ALGONQUIN WAY.
